Heated Steering Wheel Part 2

Hi guys, just been fobbed off by my local dealer regarding my heated steering wheel. My problem is that it is not heating up as quickly as it used to.
Can you guys let me know how long it takes for your wheel to get a toasty temperature. ?
Then I can go back to the dealer with some ammo.

Don't know how long but it is as quick as the heated seats. However I would not consider the temperature to be hot. More like warm. The heated wheel is much different than on my 335.

I agree that it takes about the same amount of time that the seats take, and mine gets "hot!", not just warm.

Mine gets warm, not hot, after 2-3 min. I can actually feel a temp change after 1-min or so. I wonder if they lowered the temp a little bit for MY '13.

Thanks guys, mine used to get pleasantly warm in about 3 mins, now it takes 20, I must say the dealers were absolutely clueless about it !!

Mine gets warm in the same time as the seats... probably just a couple minutes. My steering never gets screaming hot... just nice and warm.

Ours gets warm in a few mins.

Btw, make sure you are not using Eco pro mode, as this cuts down on power going to heated seats, wheel, and hvac. Also check your settings on I drive as this is user selectable.

Does anyone know how to increase the temperature of the heated steering wheel? "Warm" doesn't cut it when it's below freezing outside. There must be a rheostat or software control to change this?

No physical control (e.g. rheostat) but maybe through coding if someone finds it. If it is possible, keep in mind that increasing might shorten heating element life.

My wheel starts to noticeably warm after about 30 seconds, by the time the heatd seats are noticeabl (2-3 minutes) I generally turn the wheel off as it is becoming too warm for me!
