What diffrance does the sport seats give to make them better? is it just the look or comfort? as the only £440 for the front

It is comfort too as you get more side support. Lots of people on this forum rave about the sports seats. If you search for sports seats you'll see a lot of positive feedback

Went to south coast last week and clocked over 800 miles with day trips etc and sports seats were very comfortable. After xenons they will be my second option on my next BMW (always had SE seats before)

My biggest mistake (bar my bloody nav screen) was not ordering the sports seats. Don't get me wrong the standard seats are confortable but there's no doubts the sports seats hold you place far better.

I've seen all the talk about the sports seats so I rang the dealer this morning to ask about the change and they told me it would put the delivery back to April next year (from October) even though the car is not even ready to be built. They said they would check and let me know.

Thats rubbish, course you can change the spec at this point, I was changing mine within a month of it going into production. Just tell the dealer you want the seats and you don't want the delivery time touched. Seriously it's rubbish information they have given you.

They're probably looking to give your build slot to another buyer at a premium and using the addition of sports seats as an excuse to switch slots.

Total rubbish that this change would have such a huge effect. I made multiple changes to my order up until about 2 weeks before mine entered production and they had no effect on the production date and therefore no effect on the delivery date.

Heres what im going for:

X3 xDrive20d SE
Deep Sea Blue
Black Nevada Leather

Media Package - Pro
Visibility Package
Cold Weather Package
Auto Gearbox

Run Flat Tires
DAB Radio
6 Disc cd Changer
Loudspeaker System pro

Agree with sfax, with Media Package - Pro and its hard disk etc, no need for cd changer. IMHO Add sports seats. Add 18" rims. Add Xenons only. Add 6NR. I added a further £3k after asking for forum views, why should you be let off.

Or don't go for the Xenons, investigate the PIAA Night Tech halogens first at under 30 quid a pair. Panoramic Sunroof is more important than Xenons for me, especially if the PIAA lights are any good. Depends on how much you drive at night.

Cheers Pugger and sfax.

I've managed to get the Sports seats added and NO changes to delivery time. Current: build week is 38, delivery week is 44.

Just been told mine has arrived at the dealer

Collecting it on Friday afternoon

It's a relatively low spec compared to some but I'm very excited.

Space Grey with black leather, auto 'box, electric tow bar, folding mirrors, heated front seats and bluetooth.

Hi there, Jim. Your build week is the same as mine so it looks like our cars will be on the line and the high seas at the same time.

Cool

Hi All

I have read all 476 messages on thread (took a while) and found it all very interesting and useful. I ordered my X3 on 15 July and my dealer called today with a delivery date of 23 March 2012. The time will fly by (he said).

This will be a major test of my patience.

Welcome onboard. If you are like me, you'll end up reading a few more messages on this forum before you get your X3. It helps to fill the the X3-shaped void in your life! But you'll also learn a lot and likely won't need to read the manual when your car finally arrives (not least because you can do that here anyway - so long as it's the US version.)

Welcome 'X3 about time' your long wait will feel like sentence and you will start to wonder about your colour and spec when you read all the threads. No doubt you will make many changes with the dealer and your price will also go up! - beware of members punting 'how good' all the high end options are......

There a quite a few UK members doing time with the long wait....

Welcome. I reckon you're the first to read every post on this thread! It's a monster wait but it's also a great car as I'm sure you can see from feedback on this forum. Try to forget about it until Christmas!

Lucky beggar. I wish my dealer had the same system as yours last week.

Thanks for the welcomes.
