CD wont eject

I put a CD into the disc player and it accepted it but once it took the disc, it said it couldn't read it. I tried to eject it, but now it doesn't even recognize that the disc is there so it won't eject it! Any ideas how to get it to recognize it's there so it will spit it out?

This happen to me on my previous car. A new Lyle Lovett cd got stuck in a in-dash six cd changer. I tried everything I could of including disconnecting the battery. Nothing worked. The dealer ended up replacing the unit and sending out the old unit to get Lyle back. Since the BMW unit is a single play, can you see the cd and grab it with tweezers?

Try to prevent the cd from spinning up. I did this on a MacBook with slot-loading mechanism. Carefully insert one end of something thin, flat plastic (credit card...) and try to push it down on top of the cd to stop it from spinning if possible. Hold it there until the cd ejects.

This made my cd in the laptop eject.

I don't know if it works the same on the car. Haven't tried. Let us know if you try.

I had the same thing happen to me last night. I just held the eject button in for about 10 seconds and it finally popped back out :-)

I had a problem with my single cd player in the 7-series and used another cd to push the original cd back into place and then it ejected.

I just purchased mine used, and for the first day or so the cd player worked fine. All of a sudden, the cd wouldn't play. It would turn to the radio. I would try to eject, and it wouldn't eject. It'd say cd check then ... nothing... I did finally manage to get it to come out after nearly a day of sitting. Then yest., the cd got stuck once again. I thought well, maybe if the cd is a clean, brand new cd it wouldn't get stuck. It did. What would cause it to get stuck? And how to fix this? My car is not under a warranty or anything. I messaged the auto dealer I purchased it from to see if someone could look at it to see what was up, but of course, no one messaged me back.

*Scratching my head at this point....
