AC/Ventilation smell

Hi guys,

My 2006 X3 as well as my sister's 2004 suffered from a recurrent ''stable'' smell emanating from the ventilation or AC when starting the car. I thought they prob would have fixed that on newer models but it seems they haven't since the ''newer'' 2010 I just bought started doing the same thing last week.

Anyone found a definite fix for this? The car is still under warranty so I might get them to decontaminate the AC, but from experience on this car, this keeps coming back.

Any Ideas?
