Shouldn't grumble too much: ordered mid-Feb, so 4.5 months for a 2.0D M Sport - not too bad.
4.5 month is a very long period.

Not in the UK or Europe it isn't - Americans are given HUGE priority as far as production allocations are concerned....

Until very recently, the expected wait time (from order to delivery) was 6 months.

I ordered end of April so 3 months on total. It's still a disgrace the delay we have to endure versus USA

Dealer with a better allocation? Possibly a bigger dealer/group?

I don't think 4.5 months is bad (for the UK), but it isn't great: quite a few people have reported better....

We got ours in 2 months - had lucky timing with a dealer allocation (OCEAN Plymouth) - so well pleased with that!
Even that wait nearly "killed" me, but I do understand and given it is a specific spec ordered I can understand given the popularity of the car!
Now we have it it is even better then we had hoped for!

That's true in US too. Many dealers book the cars well in advance and are able to modify the bookings ( color, trims and options) just before it's taken up for production. This gets us a faster delivery. They roughly tell us the date for production and we are allowed to modify our orders by that date.

Already had a build slot available. Although I am paying for the slight queue jump with the customer service ever since I placed my order!!

Tried to sneak another peak at mine - in the (closed) dealership pre-prep area yesterday, but it had gone.... I will probably appear on Crimewatch now (suspiciously peering through the dealership's fence

Thankfully my dealer keeps all their vehicles awaiting delivery in an annexe to the car park so its quite easy to have a good look at mine when i get the chance! Just have to resist going down every day between now and Friday

Here in US, one can track car on web upto the dealership and later on to dealers private web inventory. We don't have to peek into prep area.

Nice pic

+1 You're not alone and sorry to hear that they scratched it. I always have specific "do not wash" instructions when mine goes in for a service / fault. They probably wash 2/3 at a time, pick up dirt in a cheap sponge and don't rinse it enough so it's only a matter of time before they're wiping some of that dirt back in.

More than one owner has bought two. One to drive, one to treasure. Ah well....
Great work on the AG wax. Looks awesome

Arranged to pick up at 3pm on Friday. No doubt the British weather will be chucking down then!

But I don't care - only 70 hours to go

Yeltzer - to keep you going until tomorrow

I picked mine up this morning (2.0D M Sport in CB, with Black leather, with lots of toys). Posting photos now and will post thoughts later (probably after the toddler has gone to bed).

Was very glad that the weather stayed ok to get some photos - will not look quite so nice after the rain that we are probably about to have!
