Parking Windscreen Wipers
Hi everyone, I hope you are all having a good festive season?
I want to change my wiper blades, but try as I might, I cannot get the wipers to park in the vertical position! I have read the manual and think I am doing the right thing i.e. with the ignition off, move the wiper stalk fully up and hold for a few seconds. I have tried all different variations, but still the wipers do not move. Can anyone help please? Thank you! |

have you tried just moving the wipers when the ignition is off? cos i move mine to clean the car/windscreen and have no problems doing so? it moves by about 45 deg upwards and that's more than enough to change the wipers?

Hi cooldude, no I haven't tried that, but I will try to carefully move them. Thanks for the tip! Still mystified as to why they don't go vertical as they should!

The ignition must be switched off. And the door should be opened and closed. It doesn't seem to work if you drive the car, park, then immediately try to put the wipers in service position.

Booty, you're a star! This worked exactly as you said. I had been trying this with the door open and it didn't work. I thought it was going to be a trip to BMW, but thankfully you have saved me the trouble! Cheers!
