Super unfortunate as I will be purchasing black kidney grills as soon as they are available for the LCI models and would really like the roof rails to be black as well. Looks like MSport selects "high gloss roof rails" and roof rails in satin aluminum, there was not a step in the ordering process where I could have specified something other than aluminum.

hmm. this is one of those situations when I really wish my dealer had known more than!

Check your actual order if you can. The default verbiage for the M sport says satin alumni but there is a separate line item for gloss black. My order looks the same as your but also does not show the separate gloss black line item which in confirmed several times with the dealer and have written confirmation of.

So you may get lucky and get it anyway. Any dealer who knows what they are doing would never order the M Sport with satin aluminum unless the customer explicitly asked for it.

To try to change out the rails would be wayyyyy more trouble then it's worth.

If it was me and I only wanted the rails for looks. I would plasti dip it black. I had an issue when I ordered my car where the dealer had to order me another car as he ordered it in silver and I wanted it in black.

It didn't state on the order sheet and sure enough I found out when I was checking the status online.

I know it sounds crazy but they seem like a better ride than my 309s were. Comfort mode has improved. Haven't driven in other modes yet so still early to tell in all modes. The option is $950 for the 310s.

Thanks. I think the 310s look great and I was always annoyed that they came out right after I had gotten my 2011. I was drooling when I saw they were an option. Our winters in NY are not as bad as yours but we got hammered this past year. Kept the 309s on the whole winter and I plan to keep these on too.

Cold weather! Yea, couldn't get the Drivers Assistance Plus but added the Surround View. Comes with a front camera. It's pretty cool when parking.

I expected to get pretty much the same vehicle I turned in. I was initially surprised by a few things I didn't expect. The dash/console looks a lot more modern. The steering wheel material, weight and scale was something new for me. The changes to the seats may seem mostly cosmetic but they are much more comfortable. Sure there's the same plastic bits about but I never complain about that stuff. Plastic bits work well when your kids still put cleats on while you are racing to the match. Overall there is much that has been improved but still learning and waiting until the break in period.

My screenshot looks the same but I know for sure he ordered the high gloss roof rails. In fact your order has both listed too under the M sport, high gloss and satin aluminum.

Changes can be made until your order actually goes into production. Check with your dealer to see if it's possible to make the change.

I just added DHP to the existing order on my white m-sport. Any reviews on if the DHP is worth the extra $$... Most people I talk to say its worth the $$, but I want to hear other opinions.

Tischer has them for ~$400. As long a you already have them, it's probably just a matter of lifting the headliner, unscrew/screw some bolts and done. Right?

There was a thread back in 2011 that I can't seem to find. Basically getting the rails off is the easy part. Waterproofing the holes left behind is another story. I tried to get mine built with no rails at all. BMW said no so I opted for the gloss black finish instead to match gloss black trim around windows etc.
