Need to source TPMS sensors

Hi there. So I've found some winter tires and wheels at an okay price but the installer doesn't have a source for TPMS sensors other than the dealer (which I assume will be crazy expensive). Anybody sourced TPMS sensors that will work with the '17 m40i? NA or even Canadian supplier would be preferable.

Discount Tire has them here. $60/wheel.

Which wheels did you purchase?

Unless they changed it for 2017, which I doubt, in Canada, we do not have TPMS in our wheels. Ours is based on the ABS system.

I wondered about that! If so, that is very good to hear, thanks.

You definitely don't need the TPMS sensors in Canada, I can confirm that

Is there something wrong with Canada?

I like my TPMS system, which gives me accurate pressure readings after 150 m of driving- system shut down during parking to save batteries.

For winter tires , I bought aftermarket sensors with tires - SEK500/$60US a piece -local tireshop supplied and did the programming.

ABS based systems just gives "red light warning" - "one tire is off pressure", without telling which tire and what pressure. I don't like that.

So - I believe BMW has switched to TPMS on X3/X4 in most markets - why not Canada?

The Lci (facelift) F25 has TMPS sensors. It can't be any different in Canada?
