I do hope that BMW comes up with a HW module replacement - otherwise it is a big oversight on their part... |

I have a 2013 X3, and the Google Maps "send to car" feature has stopped working. Is that due to the phaseout of 2G? It was a nice feature that I used frequently and I miss it.

I still have the option in Maps, and have used it within the past couple of weeks, but will need to check later to see if the destination still makes it way through the ether to the car. It is indeed a nice feature.

Everything looks normal in Google Maps, but I get an error when I press "send to car" and the location never shows up in messages. When I check registration of the car with BMW all looks normal there, too.

I think you have an issue that is unrelated to the discontinuance of service aspect of this thread, as I just now sent a destination through and received a "Destination Sent" pop-up on Google Maps, i.e. no errors. I can't at this point tell you if the destination is actually waiting in My Messages; assume it is, but will have to wait until I'm at the wife's car.

If the send to car feature doesn't work try re-adding your car and make sure the email is in all caps. If that doesn't fix it check if your car still good on the bmw assist plan.

I use the search the web function frequently when looking for points of interest. It works surprisingly well and fast. So fast, I have to assume my new X3 is indeed equipped with a 4G system.

In the meantime, does this work for you, i.e. BMW Remote App? http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...9&postcount=78

Anyone know if RTTI service subscription renewal can only be done through the dealers or BMW i-drive connected services or is there another cheaper way to renew/subscribe? Thanks in advance for any help and I apologize if I post on the wrong thread.

You have to go via the dealer or the connected drive site. The reason is due to commands going via a secure server.
The connected drive app is fairly basic... 1.flash your headlights in a crowded shopping centre 2. Lock/unlock your vehicle 3.start air circulation But the best feature is the ability to send sat nav destinations from the phone, directly to the car. I use it all the time in my line of work. |
