X3 B-Pillar cover panel
some idiot tried to break into our car and damaged the passenger side b-pillar matte black cover. item #1 in this diagram: http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?...99&hg=51&fg=10
it just got folded up as if someone used a screw driver to leverage it up from the side window. everythign else is fine and window did not break. part is cheap, like $44 from dealer. question is, anyone here know if replacing this part is something that one could handle? has anyone done it? from the diagram, it looks like its held by 3 screws (item #2) and whatever item # 3 is. thanks

That looks pretty easy to replace. Why not attempt to remove the damaged part first? It should give you some idea how the new part will go on.
P.S. I know people in Chicago don't respect other's cars. I was on vacation there a couple of years ago and others damage the front and back of my car.
