Final update....unless things go wrong.
BP representatives have been falling all over themselves to take care of this thing as of late. I actually got a call from someone at the Whiting Refinery last week. He said he was forwarded a copy of my letter and wanted to make sure I was getting helped. So, they have turned the corner on customer service as far as I'm concerned. They called me last week and officially said they would be paying for the compete repair bill as recommended by BMW. They are obviously covering the rental car (well above the $30/day limit + it's an SUV). They will pay for the gas and incidentals as well. I should have my car back in a week or so. It's been a learning experience for me. A classic example of the "squeaky wheel gets the grease" analogy. |
