Whoo hoo. Congrats. I know what you mean about the tutor. There is just so much that this car is capable of. It takes a bit of work to really maximize everything this car has to offer.

the online tutorial videos are very handy to learn alot of how idrive works. See the sticky thread in this forum

Hi everyone! We ordered our 2012 X3 35i on 9/26 and it finally finished production on 10/30. I just received my production video email. Gotta say it's pretty cool that they put that little video together for you to build up even more anticipation!

How long did it take everyone to get their car after it was finished and was awaiting carrier at the port? We are located in southern California. We are trading in my wife's 2006 Civic LX so this is a nice upgrade. I currently have a 2011 335i e90 so this is going to be a sweet stable mate! Here are the specs of the new X3:

My ww41 production vehicle finally arrived at the dealer yesterday and has been picked up.

It took longer to get from Oxnard to Oregon than it took to get from Spartanburg to Oxnard! Car sat in a lot at Waggoneer's Trucking for over a week! Sigh.

But now we have it.

I ordered my 3.0d SE in late July. Build is scheduled for w/c 21 November (according to the dealer) and should be at the dealer in late January for February Delivery. All in 7 months.

The dealer has been great and keeping me up to date. I said I didn't mind a wait but no late surprises.

Mine will be: Mineral Silver, Oyster, Matt silver, Professional multimedia, sport seats and steering, 309 wheels, VDC, electric seats, winter package, access package, viability package, top view camera, xline pack, business speakers, towbar. I went a bit mad on the extras!

Looking forward to it - may yet see some winter weather as a challenge.

We placed the order October 10th for my first BMW. Blue X3 with the mojave leather interior. M package, Tech Package, HUD, etc all goodies. After two weeks with no Production Number we contacted the SA... was ignored for days. Contacted the the Manager and within 2 hours the SA gave us our production number. Thinking he forgot to place the order until that day. Now on the 4th week (since we placed the order at the dealership) still on 'Order Documented'. Tried the 1800 number, and said no estimated completion date yet. Plus my current car is going down hill with problem after problem.

Happy for those who got theirs soo soon, but why not me!! haha

I checked online and today the order has moved to .01 Production Begins.
How long does this usually take to complete?
I watched the NatGeo special and I thought they said 30 hours total production time.

The phone system says that it's scheduled for production with no end date available.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Wife is very excited.

Got to watch the production video of my X3 today! I'm so excited I've watched it about 10 times...
I've been lucky enough to have driven BMW's since 1987 and I get as excited as a little kid thinking about my new one.

I think west coast cars are shipped by train to Oxnard and then trucked to various dealers... not sure how long it will take but trying to find more info... Patiently waiting...

That is interesting - I bet our cars went into production at the same time and will be shipped together! Keep me posted on any news on it.

The sales rep on my deal said the car should arrive in Oxnard around the 14th. Apparently the dealers have some really up to date tracking information that we don't get through the site and 800 number. She said if it gets to Oxnard around the 14th, we should be able to pick it up around the 19th-21st. My wife's birthday is on the 27th so I am glad it is going to make it here in time for it!

Ordered mine late July, said w/c 14th Novembwer for build..... Might be on the same boat!

Not much news on my order except I was told it may arrive mid - Nov.. I still don't have the video.. so maybe it is a few days behind your production.. will keep you posted..
