Tire Pressure Sensor

Hey All,

New to all this so forgive me for my posting/blogging ignorance.
I Recently purchased a certified pre-owned 2007 X3 (3 months now) and just
today had a set of new aftermarket wheels installed and now I cannot rid of the tire pressure sensor light.
I ran through the suggested reset process and it's made no difference, it still shines bright, and on occasion blinks.
That being said, any suggestions on how to make this go away?
The tires came with the vehicle and are brand new so ultimately the wheel size (height/width) are all BMW recommended.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

-Alex

So you have the sensors in the wheels? I don't know if your MY uses wheel sensors or goes by rotation (indirect). In latter case if you change the wheel size it will throw TPMS off.

Did you re-use the originals? One or more could simply be dead. I've owned my 2007 since new and one of the TPM sensors just died this month. The shop said they can last 5-10 years depending on type of mileage and environment. Mine had two strikes against them: Chicago's winters and lots of city miles. I paid to replace them all - ~$200. I expect throughout 2012 we'll hear from more and more 2007 owners (2006 used ABS so they won't have this issue).

I am in the process of getting a set of wheels for mine and I was told that the TPMS sensor is matched to your manufactured date.
