I like it!

You know, i used to run the same tire sizes, but then I realized why bother run a setup to induce understeer. Next time you get tires, you should put the same size all around, then you can rotate your tires too for extra long life.

I moved to 275/40R19 all the way around. You just need to pickup 2 more rear wheels so the fitment is best. I was running 19x9.5s up front and 19x10s in the rear. When i picked up the new tires, I actually put the same size all around because the fronts wheels were wide enough and I hadn't yet grabbed the extra 2 19x10s.

Anyway, I like the look. You should pick up the BMW Performance black kidney grill if you haven't already to match the look.

The contrast of white on black is cool. They look good for being painted. I second the grill rec.

Can you explain what happens with those sizes? I used to run 245/45R19 front and 275/40R19 rear before I switched to the 275/40's all around. The staggered setup worked great, I just wanted a more balanced setup (less understeer).

well it seems the transfer case makes lots of noises on low speeds . when coming to a stop 20 mph to stop theres a vibration felt through the car . Also when hitting big bumps the transfer case motor kicks on for 15 secs or so and also taking off from stop heavy acceleration I get a big vibration thoughout car also. There is an SIB from BMW stating that wrong offsets, different wheels and tire sizes cause transfer case issues and will gradually trash the it . I put on on stock wheels and tires and all issues were resolved . Do you have any weird vibrations with the tire sizes you have . what wheels do you have and size and width

That's really weird. The wheels should have no effect, because its the overall tire diameter/circumference that will mess up the transfer case. The difference between those two sizes are within tolerances front to back.

Anyway, I was on 19x9.5 et45 and 19x10 et38 when I ran them. They were smooth as butter. Then I just put the same 275/40's on the 9.5 fronts before picking up 2 extra 10's. All option worked perfectly, so I really don't know what to tell you.

only thing I can think of (and it's a huge stretch) would be that you're rears were worn down very far while your fronts were new (causing enough of a size difference) or the tires had manufacturing defects of some kind...

I can guarantee that the staggered setup had zero problems with my transfer case. And I doubt there was any real difference between our model years that would relate to this issue (mine was a 2007 3.0si).. All that being said, I do like the 275/40R19's all around much better.

The 19's look the part on the X3, now since you've confirmed the 9.5's & 10's fit the front with no issues, i have a question.....? My options are 19x9.5 all around with the 23, 33, or 43 offset. I want a flush look with no suspension rubbing probs, so whats my best bet? We are stock 18 inch,35et. 2006 M sport. I want width w/a mean look
