Coolant temps

2015 35i, what is the normal operating temperature of the engine coolant? I have an Ultragauge installed to keep an eye on certain parameters in real time. Mine indicates anywhere between 183F and 203F driving around town. With the water pump and thermostat issues with the N55, I want to set an alarm for the coolant temp but I don't know what is a danger zone temp to set it to.

thats exactly the normal coolant temps for just about every car on the planet. you're good

thats exactly the normal coolant temps for just about every car on the planet. you're good

Thanks for the reply. So if I set an alarm to alert me at say 220F, that'd be a good heads-up warning spot? Or more like 230F?

sure but the car will tell you on its own when its above normal. you will get a warning.

likely you will see temps above 210 when its hotter out. I don't remember what the max range is but many newer cars will run 230+ under normal conditions. for fuel economy reasons.
