Questioning my fuel consumption and mpg
Hi all. Just picked up my new x3 on Saturday and I have a question regarding the mpg. As I drive, the dash indicated that I am only getting 15.3 mpg. I thought the car us suppose to get 19? Can something be wrong?

Reset the mpg and avg mph stat thru the iDrive and see how that works for you. Mine came from the factory at 6 mpg so I reset it. I drive my 35i pretty hard and get around 11 - 12 mpg (city driving in sport mode) and have seen 23.3 mpg once on a longer trip (mix of sport and normal). I don't drive to conserve fuel so I am not the best to tell you how to save...but I am sure others will
For the performance that the F25 offers, it is amazing to me people can acheive over 20+ mpg if they try/want. kozzi

Thank you for your responses. I have been driving locally and in the highway. My maxima with the sane driving indicated I drove about 18.5 mpg. I haven't reset it since getting the car. May I should? I don't think I have a led foot but who knows.

I've got 300 miles on mine, a 128. I do a mix of city and highway driving every day, being very conservative with the pedal to see if I can get the mileage up, and I'm getting 26-29 mpg on the trip computer, 19.8 and going up on the general read-out. How you use the gas pedal plays a big role in the mpg; so does whether you use the A/C and the moonroof.
