Bi-xenon without washers??

Guys, I wonder if it is possible the car has bi-xenons but then it doesn't have washer for the light?
Dealer said there is a cancellation and asked if i wanted to take the car as it has the same color combination. I saw the car today and it's missing the light washer
Dealer told me it is not included in the X3 (it wasn't on the option list on the brochure as well, but its just i was under impression that all bi-xenons came with light washer)
The test drive car was the business model and doesn't even have bi-xenons, and so far this is the first executive model ever delivered to my dealer, so they don't know as well. Any ideas?

In the US, the washer comes with the cold weather packedg. Nothing to do with the lights other than to wash them.

In the US, all 35i's come with xenon headlights, but don't have washers. However, these option combinations do change in different countries due to local laws and BMW’s marketing practices.

I have xenons, but no washers and don't miss them, but then again, I don't drive on muddy unpaved roads.

In the UK, headlight washers are part of the xenons option but I think this is a legal requirement

They're not all that useful but they look cool when they're firing and add to the premium feel of the xenons

As stated above, in the U.S. you have to get the cold weather packge to get the headlight washers. In previous vehicles, getting X-Drive also made them standard (my previous E90 and E91 both had them std).

I actually try not to use them because it gets the hood dirty. But they are useful primarily when driving in winter and accumulating a layer of road grime or salt on the lenses.

On my E83, I unplug the washer pump in the spring, summer, and fall months. I hope to do the same on my F25.

Having the washers is invaluable in the winter!

Good to know that the washer is not part of the xenon option.
I always under impression that factory xenon always come with the washer, as whenever I see the "xenon retrofit" threads, someone always mentioned lacking of the washer would make the xenon kits illegal. Now i know that it varies on region, and i don't think there is any regulation here about xenons and washers.
I don't think i'm going to use the washer, I was just worried if the car has bumper damage during shipping and they installed the wrong new bumper without washer.
I actually searched for the press photos of the launching event of the car here, and yeah, no washer indeed for the executive models. Thank you guys for clarifying this

And I am glad we don't as every washer system I have had has not worked very well. Had them on my M3 and quite honestly, they were useless.

In Australia the Xenons and the washer are a separate option... but...

You cant option the Xenons without the computer automatically adding in the washers.
Its like an episode of Little Brittan: "The computer says no"

Just another way they can make a $1000 option into a $2000 option.

I cant see there's any legal issue that requires Xenons and washers combined. I.e, those with eye watering bright Xenons have to make them even brighter by keeping them clean ? I could have done without the forced cost of washers.

the concern is that the xenon lights don't generate enough heat to melt the snow/slush off of the headlights. This is why it's a law in some countries. Also, it's a bit more gentle to use a headlight washer rather than a scraper.

On our roads up here, they work great, especially when the transportation department puts MgCl on our roads, as it leaves an oily residue on the vehicle.

Just another thing to go wrong. My concern is if they freeze up in the winter causing mechanical failure then requiring a repair. Earlier i own an Audi that failed and the repair was not cheap. If the pump can be disabled that might be an option. What have others experienced?

Don't know if it's the same in Indonesia, but in the US, the washers come with the Cold weather package. I have xenons but no washers.

I had headlight washers on my last car (VW Golf GTI) for 5 years from new and had no failures / issues. Also not many harsh winters!

We don't have the freedom to customize the options in our car here, there are no premium packages, cold weather (or hot weather for that matter ) packages, nothing. They usually pre-selected the options and put it into 2 or 3 models (Usually called business and executive). So for the X3, if i want xenon light, i have to go for the executive model, which also came with the panoramic roof, etc. I can't just order it with xenon without the panoramic roof or panoramic without the xenon.
Anyway, it's good to know that the light washer is not part of the xenon, so i know for sure mine is not supposed to come with the light washer (don't think its useful here anyway). I was just wondering as I saw the 3 and 5 series in the showroom floor has xenon and the washer.

How many BMWs do they sell in Indonesia p.a. & wht's the breakdown between CBU & CKD? Probably the volume is not enough for custom order.
Most ROW-spec cars follow EU-spec in terms of lights etc., unless the distributor is stingy or powerful enough to remove individual content from features that are normally packaged together (i.e. xenons & washers).
As BMW Indonesia is 100% owned by BMW AG, I believe they've done exhaustive profit calculation on every car they sell there.

My guess is around 900-1200 cars/year based on 2009 and 2010 data that I've read in the paper. They usually sell 3 series sedan and 5 series sedan as CKD, the rest is CBU (for F10 5 series tho, i believe all the units sold here are still CBU)
You're probably right that the volume might not high enough for custom order, same thing applies for other mainstream luxury brands sold in here.
