Alpine White Xline with 19" 608 staggered wheels

Hey guys, just picked up our X3 Lci 3 days ago. Thought I'd post up some pics as I haven't seen many people with the 608 y-spoke style wheels.

I love the matt exhaust tip! I'm a bit confused about the grill and exhaust though. Is that a four cylinder engine with an optional titanium look grill? here in Switzerland the 20i and 20d come with oval exhaust and black grill, while the 28i and 35i as well as 30d and 35d have twin exhausts with titanium grill.

It's an X-line. The X-line seems to come with titanium grilles on the 2l engines. Same as in Sweden.

Yeah, it's a 20i but I asked the dealer to debadge the x3 and door badges. The only way to really tell what model it is, is by the exhaust. Note, the 20d has a smaller rear muffler even though the exhaust tip is the same as the 20i.

Here's a couple more pics. Kinda wish the rears were 10.5s as I wanna run 295s which would look a lot 'meatier'.

Also got a 35% tint today. Will get a better pic of the full car tomorrow. Film is 3m scotch tint black.

Has anybody installed a stage 1 BMS tune in their 20i yet? If so what's the verdict? I've done a bit of research on the topic and can't see how the engine is different from the N20 in the 320i if at all. I'm pretty keen to get this installed as soon as my 2000km engine break-in period is up.

Btw what sort of fuel consumption are you guys getting? Mine is really bad at the moment I.e. 11.8L/100km, which is ridiculous for 4cylinder imo. To put it into perspective my 6L V8 with much more power returns 13L/100km.

I installed the BMS stage 1 tune today and it was a pretty easy install. The hardest bit is unclipping those connectors in the engine bay. It doesn't help that the X3 bonnet is longer and taller than the 3 series which makes access a bit difficult (unless you're tall!).

After installing the tune my car it threw an error, however after driving it for a bit (maybe 5 mins) the error seems to have gone away. The error wasn't a CEL error, but rather some warning about an issue with the traction control system. I took a video and will upload it soon. I'm not sure if the warning is just a standard calibration thing that the car goes through everytime the battery is disconnected or what? What I did notice however is that when the time automatically synced, the error on the dash goes away.

As a test, I removed the tune and then reconnected the battery and went for a drive. As per above the error popped up again, but went away after the time/date had a chance to automatically update.

At the moment I'm running in the standard +3psi setting, however I'm going to give it about a week or so/possibly a few days before I up it to +4psi. As my car odo is sitting at about 1600kms, I'm still keeping it below 4500rpm for the break in period, however I've already noticed a pretty big difference in both comfort and sport modes with the tune. In particular the car is much less laggy in comfort mode now (which I guess is to be expected as it's making more boost) and just has a bit more urgency to it when accelerating. Provided I don't get and other errors on the dash I think I'll be pretty happy with this tune.

EDIT:
Ok, so I did a bit of research and I think the error after the battery is disconnected is normal. The guy in the below video says the remedy is to turn the steering wheel full lock to the left, and then to the right, and then to the middle again. Apparently it's to do with loss of signal to the "steering angle sensor". Perhaps somebody else can confirm?

Steve A (England) newcomer to the X3 community

Looks a beautiful motor. I just bought my first BMW - not new unfortunately, but a 2008 X3 3.0d M Sport Step Auto. I love it except when it rains hard my rear nearside floor pan gets wet. The water is not coming in from the sun roof above.
I just joined this forum to seek help but I cant see how to do a general post to the X3 community. Can anyone help please?

how long was your total time for installation? is it a simple DIY?

what hp/torque increase is it rated for? and please provide a nice write up on your experience once you have broken her in. i'm considering this as another item to add to my growing list of mods..

Does the X-Line come with staggered 19s standard or did you have to option that?

Took me a while to install the first time because the clips are a bit hard to get off. But now that I've done it once, it maybe takes me 5-10 mins to reconnect it.

I've since increased the boost to +4psi and it's definitely much better than stock. I haven't timed it or anything but I'd say it's good for 0-100km/h in about 6.8 secs, which isn't massively quick, but quick enough for this type of car. I think with the tune it bumps up the 20i hp/torque specs to basically a stock 28i (around 165kw at the wheels and 350nm torque).

This is what it looks like installed:

Only on the 28i and 30d in Australia. I optioned the 19s on mine.
