235/55/18 for winters?

Stock tyre is a 245/50, any reason i cannot do 235/55 for winter on a new rim?

Overall rolling circumference will be larger because taller tire (sounds like that's a conventional minivan/crossover sized tire) so effects:

-riding higher
-sloppier handling
-speedometer and odometer reading low
-clearance in wheel well.. maybe? doubtful..
-savings.. because it's a more mainstream size.
