MP3 Playlists and Shuffle for X3

Does the X3 Tech Package (without Smartphone integration, BMW Apps) have an option to create use music playlists and shuffle/random music mode?

And can this be done with a blackberry?

I don't have a iPhone/iPad and don't have a particular reasons why I'd want one yet

The X3 I have access to doesn't have any Nav option but does have a USB interface under the armrest.

I've been able to play music via bluetooth and USB using a BlackBerry but operation is mostly from the BlackBerry unlike the Ipod where the I-Drive takes control and also displays album art.

Haven't looked at playlists but there is a 'random' function within I-Drive.
Biggest surprise was using a USB memory stick. I-Drive navigates around folders, albums, artists etc and shows show album art. Haven't worked out why some is displayed and not all.

Forgot to mention there is a 'random' function with I-Drive. Can't comment on 'playlists' though.

No. You can play existing playlists but you cannot create them via the iDrive. With the BMW Apps option, you get this functionality along with the Genius function and video playback.

Can I save playlists to the HD or do I need to play manually from the blackberry?
