With my credit union they if my monthly payment is lets say $550 and I pay $600 the extra $50 automatically goes into principal only, but yes like nyalpine90 mentioned your monthly payment is split into (principal/interest) What I also did was before my 1st payment I paid $600 entirely to the principal, then usually round it off $50-100 extra towards principal my last 4 payments, I'm on my 5th month now.

BMW Financial Service is offering lowest at 3.12% for 72 months. Do we get the lower rate if we finance for 60 months? What do you guys mean by paying more to principal? Meaning paying more per month?
I didn't go through BMWFS for the fact My Credit Union was able to beat them 0%@36 1.9@48, 2.04@60, 2.74@72

the BMW tire/wheel insurance pays for itself if you have rough NYC roads and 19 or bigger rims , its a security i wouldn't want to be without I'm covered for $5 , i don't have to be worried about upgrading to 20's

My 2012 X3 is financed over 48 months with 10% deposit and zero residual/balloon. Guess what classifies as a really good deal here in South Africa? Prime, which is 9.25% at the moment. Most used vehicle buyers are lucky to get 11-12%.

This is why I went as short as possible on the period and added a deposit, without that the total interest paid ends up about 25% of the initial purchase price. Ouch.
Sorry to hear!

But that contradicts with the statement "lower the monthly installment", doesn't it. That's why I'm confused because you're actually increasing the monthly payment and pay off the car sooner.

Just like mortgage acceleration programs, there are programs available to save you thousands of dollars over the life of a loan...whether it's a home or a car. A quick Google search brings this calculator up.

http://www.dinkytown.net/java/AutoBiweekly.html

There are also 3rd party companies that will make the payments for you because obviously your lender does not want you to pay it off early. Think of how much money you can save in interest by making 2 monthly (2 bi-weekly payments = 1 month payment) payments instead of one.

Wow, surprising. Just checked and found out my car just begin production!!

However, I noticed the M sport section shows both the aluminum rail and the glossy black rail. I want black. My CA made a mistake but I caught it and had him change to glossy black two weeks ago. Will this change as time goes on? I would hate it if after all this wait, it comes with the wrong roof rail.

You are so lucky! I ordered mine the last week of December as well. I just hang up with my CA and he told me my X3 already left the plant and will arrive in SF the week of Feb 16.
I do have the same exterior and interior color combination as your.
