Sports seats vs normal seats

Read favourable comment on sports seats but does anyone have similar angled photos of normal and sports seats that they can post to show the difference?

Yes I like sport seats , they are wider then my E92 coupe , I am 5 foot 9 at 165 pounds they fit just right , I like the extra support that the sport seats have , but that's me .

I loved the sport seats in our 3's. Sounds like they're similar in the X3. At first they felt a little tight on the sides, I think because we'd never experienced seats like that. After a very short time we found them really comfortable and enjoyed a "positive" seating position to go with the positive control of the BMW in general. I particularly like the extendable thigh support. That really made it more comfortable than any car seat I'd ever experienced. I suppose the higher end "comfort seats" are better, but these sport seats are the best I've experienced. Like BMW's in general, going back is difficult. Rental cars and such feel soooo awkward!!

Many thanks. And so the birth of another option occurs. Behold joy and an empty piggy. Thanks guys. Looks like extra comfort adjustment awaits.

welcome to the club…internet car forums are dangerous that way…you never know what you are missing until you see it, and then want it!

Not only do the sports seats have the (manually) extensible thigh support but they also have variable width side supports. I'm not a wide chap but when I adjusted them inwards it became a vice-like grip!

Note that on the X3 lumbar support is still an additional option. I could swear that when I was looking at coupes 3 years ago lumbar support was standard. I do the sort of mileage where being able to adjust the lumbar position is something of a must ... which reminds me that I do need to alter my order because I've missed this!
