Has anyone had experience phoning 1-800-567-2691 for Canadian production and shipment information?

I tried (1-800) 831-1117 for North America. I gave the computerized lady my partial VIN and she told me my vehicle was in transit. Then I phoned my dealer and he said my car was in the paint stage.

So I guess she is giving me a status on a US vehicle with the same last 7 VIN digits?

There is no option for Vehicle Production Status when you call 1-800-567-2691. I suppose you could talk to a representative to get a status. Might be more convenient if your salesman is slow to return your calls/emails.

Thanks. In the end, I drove to the dealership; my CA then gave me the status of every X3 they are going to get until March, including mine. It was a very pleasant visit; I like the Internet or telephone options too, though, because they allow me to check more often. My X3 was completed on Dec 22, but it is still at the factory today, awaiting shipment. Oh, well - all the better when it comes in. And it is nice to have it labeled as production week 1 of month 1 of 2011.

you can put production number or vin number on bmwusa.com website under my BMW. You can then track it. I'm not sure if you can do it on bmw canada website.

Canadian VIN not recognized in BMW US web site.
