Bad heater?

hello,
Several reports here in icy old Norway suggests that the heating system in the car is poor!? Newspaper aftenpostens reviewer says that he drove all the way through Oslo without the heater starting to work properly..

I live way up north and I am depending on a good heater/ effective defroster and the last thing I would want is to be "left in the cold" with my new X3 wich I will take delivery of this summer..

any experiences?

Thomas.

Heaters have been fine in my previous BMW's and im sure the X3 will be the same.

As its a new model its more likely it was faulty (all new cars have teething problems)

hehe.. and if it wasn't a teething problem, I'm sure this is a kind of a marketing paid by MB or Audi Heaters are ok in BMW, otherwise there wouldn't be so many customers in RF (we have -40C..-50C in some regions during the winter)

I feel a little relaxed now, but it would still be interesting to hear any comments for owners in cold countries :-)
