Airbag light on

Hi all,

I swapped out my standard seats with Sport seats with the same generation which is F25. I did disconnect the battery. So when I started the car up after several seconds I get the airbag light going off and to contact BMW. Is there something I missed? I’ll be swapping out the original controllers under the drivers seat tomorrow and see if that extinguishes the light. The seat belt was not under duress or collapsed. Any suggestions would be great! I did do a search and didn’t come up with anything. Thanks

I almost pulled the trigger on upgrading my standard seats for sport seats / but was told there are different plugs, wires, etc involved - so I shelved the idea

perhaps it's just a matter of relocating the pins or something simple ?

Instead of swapping parts, you need to use a code reader to see what the system is complaining about and possibly reset the errors. If you're anywhere around the western side of Lakewood, I can even do it for you.

Well the answer to all of this is BOX’s. The airbag light has gone out, and the reason is quite simple. When we swapped the seats out , my thought was the boxes under the passenger seat and driver seat didn’t need to be swapped out cause they were from the same generation. Well luckily since I did take my boxes that were original to the seats and today I swap them to what was originally with the car. I reconnected the battery , refastened the seats down an start her up. Low and behold no more airbag light…. . So any electronics need to stay with the car.
