Changing track from steering wheel

The new steering wheel on the M Sport is great, nice and fat, and has a good array of buttons, but one thing I miss hugely from my previous BMW is the next track / previous track button.

I know you can move the rocker on the left, but I've noticed that purely looks at the next track in order, and isn't a true next track / previous track. For example, when iPod is playing random, using the buttons under the CD input it will go to the next random track, but from the steering wheel it will pick the next track in the alphabetical order I am playing in.

Does anyone know if its possible to change track correctly from the steering wheel, or re-program any buttons to do so?

Thanks

Use the roller next to the volume controls on the steering wheel. Pressing it once will bring up the track playing and the next two tracks on the information area between the gauges. Use the roller to choose the tracks. Then press again for that track.

The only 2 ways I've found to do that is to use the button under the CD player as you have mentioned, or you can get the next random track using the idrive. I have it set on the advance icon =>| and just push the idrive controller to advance to the next random track.
