New Owner - Inner tailgate light question
Greetings all,
New owner of 2014 X3 28i. I see that the inner red tailgate lights do not light up. (I do not have the rear LED lights option) I read somewhere that they are just for show. In other forums, I see that they may be used as rear fog lamps in Europe. I also read that they could be the "Adaptive Brake lights" that only come on during hard braking. Anyone knows more about these lights? And how to use? Thanks for any help Marc |

They say they don't not have the LED tail lamp option which means they have halogen headlamps as the LED tail lamps are part of the Xenon light option. You are correct, those inner lamps can be used as rear fog lamps if you have the European headlamp switch installed. For US spec cars, the inner lamps are used as a 'brake force display' to indicate to the vehicles behind you that you are heavily breaking.
