Considering X3 28i for the Wife...

Any suggestions as to what your wife likes/doesn't like on the X3. I know the only things she HAS to HAVE are the b/t audio, roof, and heated seats... Other than that, I think it is a free for all...

If she drives like my wife, you will want the back up camera, parking sensors and the top view camera

good call. The nice thing about that is I don't have to get the navi to do it anymore...

My wife daily drives our X3 as well. She really enjoys the heated stearing wheel and cameras.

As a female who bought my X3, I could not do without my Head up display. It was a major selling point for me.

Also: heated seats, rear camera.

Comfort access is nice for females as well, so they dont have to fish for their keys inside their giant hangbag to get in and out of the car

All around camera with PDC, navigation, heated seats were requirements set by my wife. She likes the M Sport version I got her, especially the seats, she also prefers the thicker nicer M steering wheel. Heated wheel is nice. HUD was not a requirement, but she loves that feature and it will be a requirement in future vehicles. Adaptive headlights help her on winding roads. She doesnt like moonroofs, but the panoramic was my requirement.

Only thing we didnt get that would of been nice is the power tailgate, its the only option ours didnt have besides DHP.

All good ideas, looks like I will be adding the navi and HUD with the backup camera... making it a more expensive vehicle, but HAPPY WIFE = HAPPY LIFE! She'll be pleasantly surprised... now I just have to figure out a way to get her out of the Nissan Rogue lease...

Heated steering wheel on my x3 is a nice touch... especially in Chicago, where apocalyptic winters now last until June.

My wife can't stand the HUD, in my 335i she turns it off when she drives, but she has vertigo (think it messes with her mind)
I can't see buying another car without the HUD (for myself that is)

Heated steering wheel is a must if in cold climates, its a bummer that its now only part of the $950 cold weather package, it used to be a $150 stand alone option, now you have to pay $300 for rear heated seats which people who have kids in car seats do not need...

skip LED lights, Xenon are just fine (LED way overpriced right now).

premium sound a must if they like listening to music while driving

sport seats are a lot nicer than standard ones.

parking sensors and backup camera are all you really need, the surround view is cool but not worth the $750 extra (we have it now as it was part of the old tech package, always have backup camera on instead as you can't use both at the same time...)

get bigger wheels, car has huge wheel wells, anything under 18" looks silly, 19" is good, 20" is great if you get M Sport

That's too bad. I love it too. When my husband drives my car, he keeps asking me what the GPS is telling him to do and I'm like, LOOK AT THE HUD!!! He "forgets" its there...ha

I agree with you about parking sensors and camera. I didn't get the overhead one and its just fine.

I do wish I got the heated steering wheel. Only seats on mine.

we got the steering wheel in the X3 since it was only $150, but skipped it on my 335i because it was $450 and included heated rear seats.

I didn't want to waste $300 on a feature we would NEVER use (3 year lease and kids were 2 and 4 at the time, meaning they would be in car seats the whole lease...), yeah I REALLY wish I had a heated steering wheel with this Chicago winter

My wife has one and the most important options for her are (in order , but all 3 are really ranked as nos. 1):
1- heated seats and steering wheel;
2- comfort access, the one where the key can stay in her purse and she just opens the door (this is HUGE for her, she complained once about getting a loaner without it ... she got so used to it)
3- back up camera and parking sensors.

good luck
