Installed VRSF Catless Downpipe on F25 X3 xdrive35i

Hey guys,
Got the catless downpipe from VRSF installed on my F25 X3 xdrive35i (2016). Thought I'd share the before and after sound for anyone considering a purchase. Both videos (before catless and after) have the golf tee mod.

EDIT 1: Some questions about install that I missed. To be brief, much easier with a lift. I disconnected sensors from bay and then lifted and removed the entire exhaust. Then installed the new DP, then reconnected exhaust to newly installed DP. You may think it would be extra work, but it makes the install much easier IMO. The DP area is tight and is much easier to install without exhaust.

EDIT 2: Stage 2 MHD is on. No error codes. I will upload new video soon.

Yes you will get a light. I’ll have MHD stage 2 tune on soon which will remove it though. Install wasn’t all that bad.

Thanks! I agree 100%. The before isn’t bad at all, especially after getting the exhaust flap to stay open. I really wasn’t doing it for sound purposes. Pairing with stage 2 tune soon.

Install for the DP wasn’t too bad and I’m happy with it.

What were the challenges for the install? I may consider doing this down the road.

it's not bad, but still a little irritating getting the new one in even on a lift. just getting the clamp it from the turbo etc. I did a video too but didn't really get into it much.

So I just did this on my 2014 335i RWD and it can be annoying getting the exhaust clamp (turbo to downpipe) to fit on perfectly.

I would imagine the X3 is a bit of a mixed bad because while it's xDrive, there's slightly more space in the engine bay compared to a 335i.

Phantom10R

did you have to drop the exhaust to make room for the down pipe?

it's not terrible but still xdrive.. way easier than doing a 335 xdrive.

no just disconnect it from the dp and the mid hanger to move out out of the way, you don't have to drop the whole thing though.

Can this DIY be done reasonably easy on jackstands/ramps or this is a lift only type of work?

Sorry for delay on a response. I just put an edit on the original post regarding install.

"To be brief, much easier with a lift. I disconnected sensors from bay and then lifted and removed the entire exhaust. Then installed the new DP, then reconnected exhaust to newly installed DP.
