oil temp
Just noticed after driving for 20 minutes that my oil temp was at 140, nailed all the way to left. Generally its about 150+ middle of scale. I also hear a noise from front sort of like strong fan when driving, tough to describe.
Also when I turn off car there is a buzzing noise from engine for about 5 seconds. Anyone experience either? |

I would expect the oil temp to be in the middle of the gauge after about 15-20 minutes of driving, unless it's 40*F or less outside.
If the oil temp indicator doesn't gradually rise, you likely have a faulty sensor. Any codes pop up? Your local AutoZone can scan for free.

Someone else had the same issue. I did too about a month ago. It only lasted one day. Has not come back yet. I haven't read the codes because I barley drive the car. The times I have driven the car after the incident. It drives great, no issues.
See if you can get the codes read and we can possibly see what is causing the issue. Also, when was the last time you replaced the water pump/thermostat? |
