F25 N55 Timing Chain

Hi All,

Does anyone know if we need to replace the timing chain on 2011 X3 Xdrive35i (N55 engine)?

AFAIK timing chain can last for years, not like timing belt, but I don't know whether it needs to be replaced or not.

So far my X3 is just fine, it has 118k miles on it.
Just want to know if we need to replace it, after how many miles?

Thank you.

N55 did not have the same issue as the N20 engine. The timing chain on the n55 will last the life of the engine. Or atleast it should as long you keep up with oil changes.
