2017 X3 xDrive35i paddle shifter questions...

Q1: When using the steering wheel paddle shifters to shift, should I momentarily left off the gas slightly while shifting, or is it OK just to keep the pedal to the medal while shifting?
Q2: Which is faster 0 to 60, someone paddle shifting this car model, or letting the automatic transmission take care of things?

Q1: full throttle and don't lift off. The computer takes care of everything.
Q2: Good question... if you let the Auto do its thing, it runs the engine speed up to 7000 rpm but the horsepower starts to fall off after 6,400 rpm. I think someone using the paddles and shifting at 6,400 would be fastest but I have no instrumented test to prove it.

Thanks. I'm definitely going to wait until my break-in has been completed for that trick.
