How to mount standalone gps/smartphone in x3?

Anyone have suggestions? Am regretting not getting the nav system, and am wondering what others have come up with for mounting a gps or smartphone. Has anyone tried the cup holder mount? Given where the cup holders are, is the viewing angle acceptable?

Something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Macally-Adjust...ref=pd_sim_e_3

I'm looking for something easily removable as to not make myself any more of a target for thieves...

EDIT: convinced myself to just get the bean bag garmin mount that sits on the dash for the rare occasions I actually need to use GPs.

I got this one in my car now, but don't know how it'd fit in the X3.....because mine won't get here until Friday (peeing in pants)! It does the job in my Caddy though....it clips on to the air vent and is close to the power/aux outlet so that cords aren't running everywhere.

Just take it off when you aren't using it or you park the car in a public venue.

Jaybert - either of the ones you referenced should work, but they may be a bit low. By that I mean down just above the stick shift. If that is not an issue for you then go for it. I personally like my Nav screen a bit higher, like the one beerfan recommended. Amazon has great customer service and return policies.

By the way, if you have an iPhone, I highly recommend the Navigon app. It loads the maps on your device at purchase time. While that takes more of the device memory, you won't be downloading maps as you navigate.

Used Tomtom app on iPhone with iPhone mount in Europe with car w/o nav. Worked very well for me.
