Can you choose type of floor mats when ordering?
I am in the process of ordering my 2012 35i and want the all weather floor mats. I heard that you can choose them instead of the carpet ones. Is this true? My dealer is saying he can't but can get the all weather ones as an accessory. I also want the cargo mat accessory. Thing is I rather not have to buy the rubber floor mats if they can be substituted for the carpet ones.

They want you to buy the All Weather Rubber mats but if you insist, they'll replace the Carpeted mats with no charge. BTW, while you're at it, ask the All Weather Floor Liners, they are better than the Rubber one.

In 2011 the X3s were not delievered with floor mats unless you specifically negotiated with the dealer or you did the PCD pickup in Spartenburg and in that case you got the carpeted mats.

So the swap is done at the dealer or at the factory? My dealer is looking into it but hasn't gotten back to me yet. Rather the order be placed with rubber mat option so don't have to worry about the swap at the dealer when it comes in.

My 2012 came with carpeted mats but I bought a set of the liners.

The swap is done at the dealer. At the end, they let me keep the carpeted ones too.
