How uncommon are F25 X3's currently?

With mine coming in in a matter of weeks.....late March to be exact, I have really only seen one F25 in my area (Birmingham, Alabama) in the three months they have been out.

Because of the special order program, are the X3's naturally going to be rarer on roads or is it just because they are brand new?

Anyone else seen many F25's in their area?

I haven't seen a single one in my area. Although I know someone from the boards, mccun, lives nearby.

Saw one the other day and was about to wave. Then I saw that it was an SA doing a test drive with a customer.

Wow. With such an expansive line-up and with the X1 coming out this fall....I'm going to be interested to see how many fork out for the X3 and how many we see. The first gen X3 wasnt all too common either.

Have only seen one on the road and that was the demo from one of the local dealers.

Think given the lead times it will be like this for the next year.

The X5 will always be a bigger seller here in the US. The X1 is probably going to take a bite out of X3 sales too.

I actually like the fact that the X3 could and probably will be uncommon for quite some time...or always. I mean I doubt it will be as rare as a 5GT, but there is nothing like having a car that only you have in a city or area or town. Hopefully the X3 will be like this. European sales will keep it afloat but sales might not be massive here...same with the ML- and R-Class vehicles from Mercedes that are built here.

they delay it cause demand is so high in Europe. It'll compete with Audi Q3 and Porsche Cajun.

I saw one X3 on the way to pick up our X3. And there were two other X3 in the dealer lot. I think one is already sold.

I haven't seen any other F25's in my area. I live in brooklyn ny so I am sure there are others. They have to be selling well.

I've seen one in downtown New York, one in downtown Chicago and one in the suburb where I live, so that's (4) including mine.

The BMW officially released production figures for the South Carolina plant for Feb. 2011 are:

X3 - 6873 units
X5 - 6369 units
X6 - 3446 units

The plant now employs more then 7000 people.

So at the current world population estimate of 6,852,472,823, that's one BMW F-25 X3 for every 997,013 people. As an X3 owner, you can consider yourself "one in a million" (at least in February).

What I find really surprising are the X6 numbers. They're much higher than I would have imagined. I don't think I've seen more than one or two in the last couple of years. Do X6 owners just keep them parked in the garage?

Congrats! With a couple of days for production and a couple of weeks for shipping and dealer prep., you should receive it before the end of the month.

Lone Tree, CO sounds like an ideal place to own a X3!

1987 were sold in the US in Feb. So about 30% of those sales come from US buyers. Audi Q5 Feb sales in US is 1,539. So I guess BMW has done tremendous job in the us to wrestle away this segment from Audi.

I think your figures are wrong they started producing X3 in Spartanburg Sep. 15 I believe, so you are not one out of one million. Sorry :-)

Only X3s I've seen happen to be dealer demos, most people seem to be getting X5s or MLs. I'm looking forward to the fact that many people aren't choosing X3s since it'll get boring if everyone has the same car. All there seems to be in my area are 3/5 Series, C/E Classes, and an A4 at every stoplight.
