Apple iPhone

Has anyone with an Apple iPhone 4 managed to link to Office to send/receive texts and emails?

You won't be able to. Apple don't support Bluetooth MAP

If it supports Bluetooth MAP, do you really still need an additional app? I thought that once you have that support, then you're good to go and the nav system will be able to read from it.

Blackberry does not require an additional app in order for texts & emails to work in iDrive / Office...unless...there's a different requirement for Blackberry's to work in Europe; that I don't know. But in North America, a Blackberry will work seamlessly with iDrive, w/o additional software.

MAP supports transfer of data but you need feature to display and handle the data so captured through MAP.

Then the app requirement must be strictly for iPhone, because my Android (SGII) works perfectly fine w/o any additional apps on the phone and I know for a fact that Blackberry's also do not require any "add-on" apps to make that work.
