I would say that BMW X3 brake pedal feel is sub par. It is very non-linear, feels as if pads are glazed, and on top of that when I brake gently there is a noticeable moment when alternator engages to convert some momentum into battery energy, causing car to slow down on its own. My old Toyota RAV4 has a much more linear braking feel, I started really appreciating this after driving X3. |

I have just got my car back from a BMW dealership - it has front rotors/pads replaced under warranty due to original rotor warping. I should say that right away, without any special break-in procedure, brake pedal feels much more "linear" - there is noticeable initial bite after very slight touch to the pedal, and braking force gets stronger in a linear fashion. Overall, I am very satisfied with the brake pedal feel at the moment.
It seems to me that original brake pads (they were half worn) did not give the same feel - there was no initial bite, as if they were glazed. Maybe BMW changed their brake pad composition lately? Last edited by supernova1; 02-29-2016 at 11:16 AM.. |
