2014 X3 35i M sport Suspension question

Is the M sport suspension already lowered? Or would H&R lowering springs be an upgrade?

M-Sport is tad bit lower than standard suspension. H&R should specify the ride height so you can compare to BMW specs.

BMW does a very nice job on suspension tuning; M-Sport is a nice performance suspension for street driven cars, I would be cautious in modding it unless you get both proper matching springs and shocks. Don't just drop the cars ride height without matched components, that would likely degrade both performance and ride quality.

Garage List
Just to note: Just because a vehicle has the M-Sport package doesn't necessarily mean it also has the M-Sport suspension. Actually, most of X3s with the M-Sports package I looked at did not have the M-Sport suspension but rather the 225 standard suspension. The "223 Sport Suspension Delete" on M-Sport models is very common for the US market, I assume for people that want a more supple ride, yet want the M-Sport cosmetic appearance package and all those M logos

X3 Suspension options:
  • 223 Electronic Damper Control (EDC)
  • 225 Standard suspension (a.k.a. "Sport Suspension Delete on M-sport)
  • 226 Sport suspension
