2015 x3 msport - two year build nearly complete
Hello, I bought my 2015 X3 Msport when i discovered the value and performance could beat my previous favorite Audi SQ5. I simply could not justify the cost of the SQ5 and the looks and the mods of an X3 really won me over. I've spent two years collecting and discarding mods and parts and customizing it to a vehicle that I always wanted. I found it two and a half years ago with only 10k miles on it, now showing 38k miles. I'm not a DIY wrench so i've been fortunate to find an outstanding BMW specialist shop in my area that loves the car as much as I do. The car is now too quiet for my tastes so i think the resonator will be straight piped next. Here is a list of the mods so far:
X5 front big brake kit 20in Stance SF07 brushed bronze wheels 20x9 +35 fr / 20x10 +35 rear 15mm spacers front / 20mm spacers rear Firestone Indy 500 tires custom made 200cell downpipes VRSF intercooler and charge pipe Burger Motorsports air filter custom made diamond grills with carbon fiber surrounds ( Aliexpress ) carbon fiber front spoiler ( Aliexpress ) carbon fiber rear hatch spoiler ( Aliexpress ) carbon fiber custom steering wheel ( Aliexpress ) carbon fiber mirror caps ( Aliexpress ) paint correction with ceramic coating H&R lowering springs converted to suspension code 0226 Remus dual outlet muffler Turner Motorsports ecu tune Turner Motorsports transmission tune |

Dr. Ulrich of TDI Motorsport once said, "Noise is not sexy; speed is sexy."
I tend to agree. To each his own. You have a gorgeous X3!

I hope Ulrich approves of a car whose exhaust note is sweet enough to overcome the wind and tire noise. I love the sound of a motor and exhaust note rising and falling and Remus is a good start but a little more volume might help my 60yr old ears. Its sad but it actually sounds better outside the car and its too quiet inside. I loved the sound when i had catless downpipes but that won't pass emissions where i live so i had to go with custom made 200cell cats. The Remus stays so the only thing i can think of would be to remove the resonator.....making it reversible if it should end up creating the unwanted done or other bad harmonics.
I love those rear window spoiler trim pieces and had them on but they no longer fit under the much longer carbon fiber spoiler. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000...27424c4dme6MGB yes, the carbon fiber rear spoiler from Aliexpress is F25 specific, its best applied with a second set of hands and required some trimming underneath (several times removed small amounts of material) the 30lb Gorilla double sided tape i used is lifting up on one end after a year, I wish i had clear coated it as it appears to be starting to fade. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000...809e61ec8f13-1 |
