No weather band in 2013 US?

I was surprised to find that Weather Band is missing in my HD Radio. Isn't weather band only in US part of NOAA radio.

Initeresting. Our 2011 does have the weather band. If you go to radio you see options like AM, FM, Weather, Tone, and a couple other options.

I don't think we had to specifically check a box to show it either.

Do you have Satellite radio or just HD radio. I didn't get Satellite option. Perhaps that is what allows Weather Band.

Anyone else with 2013 models can confirm that they have Weather Band.

I have a 2013 X3 35i, and it also does not have "Weather band" listed under "Radio", only FM, AM, Presets, Satellite and Tone. I have the premium sound and tech packages.

My 2012 28i has the standard HD but I did not order Satellite since I rarely used it in my previous car. Every BMW I've owned since 1987 has had the Weather Band.

Booooo! It seems like kind of a pointless thing for them to drop. Does it cost them anything to include it? Maybe they're trying to get you to subscribe to the BMW Online Convenience Plan for weather updates (OK, I admit, I did subscribe).

I agree "Boooooooooo!" Kind of made me angry

because I actually find this feature useful when I travel far away from home. I've used it many times to listen to where tornado is heading while driving. They also should have at least updated the manual. It is still listed there.

thats strange BMW sound systems have had weather band for man years, I had an Aunt that had a 3 series in the 80s that had it... back then before there were so many methods of getting weather info from smartphones, satellite radio and other weather band seemed cool

now I guess they figure its not so important. My 2011 has it my 2008 328 had it, probably used it once.
