What is the sensor on the rear view mirror facing forward on the passenger's side?

There's a pocket about the size of a dime on the rear view mirror facing forward on the passenger's side. Does anyone know what it is?

Page 54 in the owner's manual, simply refers to it as a 'photocell' used for control.

Photocells are used for control:
▷ In the mirror glass.
▷ On the back of the mirror.

If your car is equipped with that feature naturally, but also has something to do with the Top View camera operation or sensor relative to what might be in front of the car.

Dave

EDIT: perto is correct, only for Auto high beam sensor, if so equipped.

Ok, good. I don't have the high beam sensor option and I put my EZ-Pass toll transponder right in front of it on my windshield before I realized there was a sensor there.

If you have auto windshield wipers, that sensor is around there as well I think.

I thought the wiper sensor was just that "black" bit that's actually built-in to the windshield....but could be wrong.

The windshield wiper sensor is directly in front of the mirror mounting bracket facing straight forward. It's about 1cm in dia.
