Need guidance on trip back from PC delivery

I am picking up on 10/14 with my wife and 2 kids. We are driving back towards Chicago. Can anyone guide me on a really nice scenic drive with good stops along the way through Louisville or Nashville? We pick up Friday and trying to be back by Sun night if possible.

Please link me to thread if you have seen one before (I searched and didn't find) or send me some possible routes or places and I can do the rest.

I live just south of Nashville, and this is the route I took home from PCD. It puts you on some of the best roads in East TN, including the infamous Dragon. You could head towards I-75N once you get near Knoxville if you didn't want to go as far east as Nashville (I-40).

Actually the is an entire forum concerning PCD and a # have asked about different routes. I am not sure about going back to Chicago but try a search. Jason may have suggestions as well. We picked ours up there but only drove back to Tennessee and had a great time. I highly recommend it!

Picking mine up 10/27 and diverting westward slightly to hit the tail of the dragon on our way back to MD - should be great!

Heading NW from PCD to Gastonia, up to the Blue Ridge Parkway, then SW, up to Knoxville thru Gatlinburg. Ultimate destination....Wisconsin. Go Brewers! PCD date...10/17/11

I stayed away from the Intrastate s,

PCD to Washington, NC mostly rural roads (bears and snakes on road).

Washington NC to Nags Head

Nags Head to Norfork

Norfork (tunnel) to Delaware Beaches

Delaware Beaches to Cape May (ferry)

Hug the coast as much as possible.
