iTouch issue

Anyone have any issues with their ipod/iTouch connection? Was working, now it's not. The car recognizes it, but no sound. Any advice?

I had this happen on the 35i loaner I drove for 2 months. Ipod had worked flawlessly for the first month and then suddenly it wouldn't play. The Idrive recognized the ipod but wouldn't play anything from it (no sound). Radio, cd and everything else was fine. I ended up loading my music onto the hard drive and played it through there. I did take it to the dealer to see what the problem was and they said it was a software glitch that they have seen happen a couple of times (not just with the X3), but there was no known fix for it as of yet from BMW.

Low and behold, this morning it works. I have no idea what's going on. But I do know that I love this car.

The iPhone / iPod Touch software was updated twice in July. 4.3.4 on July 15th and it's now on 4.3.5 (25 July). Maybe your problems were linked to the upgrades

Anyone know if you can put your iPhone in the media adapter and an iTouch on the white usb cable then toggle between both in idrive?

I haven't got a media cradle but I would guess that this works as I can access a USB flash drive with the iPhone in its (basic) cradle. Can also switch between BT Audio on iPhone and USB audio on flash using iDrive

Cool, the Touch was destined for eBay, but I'll keep as a handy 2nd library. Thanks.

Check the volume setting both ipod and car. Mine seems to go to zero on one or the other for reasons I cannot understand.

First I have heard about this and I use my iTouch all the time with no issues.
