Ride personality of 310M wheels or other 20"ers?

I placed my order recently and was going to go with the 19" 622m wheels. But I'm not a fan of their looks. And when I saw what other BMW wheels were available for the X3 the options were limited and not very attractive.

Soooo...the 310m's were the least objectionable choice--if only because they'll be easier to sell if I want to.

How is the ride comfort/personality with the 310m's? Or any other 20"ers. Did you get a chance to compare the RFT with non?

Thanks in advance!

I got a set of 20" kelleners sport. Non-rft 245 upfront and 275 at the back. Comfort of non-rft 20" are good. There are two things I don't like though: 1. the 20" give to much feedback from the road, I.e. I gotta hold the steering wheel more firmly. 2. They feel heavier than my 19" 369m which is noticeable when accelerating.

Due to this I decided to use the 19" rims again. In my opinion their ride quality suits the suv better than the sportive 20" KS rims.

But anyways.... The 310m are NICE! Congrats!

I've just swapped from my 2013 X3 35i on the 19" rft's to a 2016 X4 35i with the 310's and rft's and the ride and handling is TOTALLY different and improved. Don't know what BMW did on the LCI update but the ride is so much better yet the handling is far better too. Less understeer, steering is lighter but tracks very true.

i'm on the 20" accessory wheels with Pirelli PZero RFT. Ride is quite a bit firmer but not jarring. Fuel Economy takes a plunge vs 18" RFT all seasons that are supposedly "green/eco"

I've had my car for 2 weeks and came from a car with non-RFT non-low profile tires, and the ride quality is not much different from what I can tell. I too was concerned about the ride quality as I've owned cars with low profile and RFT's tires before, and ride quality does suffer with the benefits you get from those tires. But this tire in combination with the dynamic handling feature surprisingly does not make that ride quality compromise.

Thanks for the replies. I actually managed to take one out for a spin. The X3 I drove had Sport suspension (not DHP) with 310M 20" wheels. What I can say is that the ride is definitely quite a bit firmer than the 19's, which I did not mind but the wife did. I'm sure with DHP, it would be fine, but with the sport suspension it was too stiff for her.

I decided to go with the 19" 622M but staggered instead of square as a compromise. Its really too bad here in Canada we can't get DHP as I have read over and over from users on the forum that the 20" work great with DHP.
