Chassis Malfunction... Drive Modertely
2013 X3 28 12000 miles MSport w/DHP...So this is a rant more than anything.
2 days after getting first oil change and getting the ASS reset to remember the last setting we get this. car had been trouble free for over a year. First visit right front damper sensor recalibrate. Next day light comes on again and back to shop. Replace sensor light still on. Order new main controller wait for shipping from Germany and customs was 2 weeks. Tech takes car home after new controller installed and light came back. Latest status is some type of communication between dealer and Germany has to take place unknown ETA but now going on 3 weeks without my X3. The good is that my dealer has take care of me since the beginning with a 2014 X3 but non M-Sport. |

I had the same thing happen to me. It was supposedly a sensor for DHP in one of the wheel wells (I think front right if I am not mistaken) that failed and they replaced it with a new one and have not had the problem since. Mine happened around 19,000 miles. I have about 21,000 miles right now and my car is almost 2 years old. If its going on three weeks you should talk to BMW NA about maybe getting this sorted, they might offer you an extended warranty and maintenance package or a settlement.

Thanks, good idea about asking them for something. Mine is the front right also. Today they swapped the wiring harness and the lights out. The tech took it home for the night and they will call with the results tomorrow.

Well hope they fix it. In my case they offered me an extension of my warranty and maintenance but for a different issue but my car was in the shop for almost a month for that issue which they fixed and has not come back. Overall I still love the my F25 to death and would not swap it for any other car even with the occasional issue

Got it back today. No probs knock on wood. Asked if they would extend the warrantee due to wiring harness problem and SA told me they only replaced the portion to the right front sensor.
Its mostly the wife's ...don't know if we'll keep it long term or not. She's starting to like X1's |

Well hope it works out. If she likes the x1, you should wait for the new one coming out soon with the new chassis and engines as well as new look and interior.
