No more SAP?

I was looking at the 2014 options and packages and it looks like the only way to get sport seats is to get the Msport package. is that right? Can you substitute the 309 wheels for the 369? I wonder why they got rid of the SAP. Seems like I see more of them than Msport. As a matter of fact I've only seen one or two Msport X3's on the road.

Yes. The Sports Package is no longer offered in 2014. The only way to get sports seats and the steering wheel with paddle shifters is to order the M Sport Package.

BMW NA evaluates the options that will be offered (allowed?) in their markets and how they will be packaged each year. The reasons why they make the decisons they do is a mystery to me.

Many people appear to share your frustration with this decision.

SAP was never available north of the border.

Its all down to money and what the markets will accept... the more complicated they can make it the more money they can make... and fewer choices mean less mistakes in production, maybe!...

That's too bad to lose that choice. I suppose I wouldn't mind it if you had choices on wheels like putting on the 309's instead of the 369's. I personally like them better. I'm not looking to buy another one just yet since mine is only just a little over 1 year old but I was just perusing the bmwusa site. I'll wait for the X4.
