Tyre pressure monitor (RDC) failure

I recently bought a BMW X3 2016 model.

The car is showing error message "Tyre pressure monitor (RDC) failure" few minutes after startup. I have checked the tyre pressure manually and its perfectly fine.

Is it something that I can clear with BMW Rheingold or it is possibly a hardware fault?

Yes Rheingold will show you the timestamp and much of whatever else you need to know. I was getting that message intermittently for a while. The tyre shop said that my sensors were all fine when he tested with his professional tool, but Rheingold showed that the rear left sensor had a low battery.

I read the fault codes today using Rheingold and after doing the scan RDC is shown in RED colour under the Control Unit Tree section. Does it mean that the ECU for RDC is dead?

There are many fault codes relating to RDC which I am listing below

S 0296 - No communication possible with Tyre pressure monitor
D018EB - Message (RDC Tyre status. 280.0.8) missing, receiver ICM, transmiter RDC
D018EA - Message (RDC Tyre status. 280.0.8) out-of-date, receiver ICM, transmiter RDC
E114A0 - No message (status, tyre RDC 0x368) receiver KOMBI transmitter RDC
E114A2 - Message (status, tyre RDC 0x368) not current, receiver KOMBI transmitter RDC

I am bit lost here. Any advise on how to proceed will be very much appreciated?

The rdc is located behind the passenger side rear wheel. Remove the rdc from the holder by unclipping the front cover and slide it out from the holder.
Undo the harness and now with the rdc in your hand, take a blade and slice through the glue thats holding the 2 halfs of the rdc together.
Once you open it up , you can inspect it if theres rust in there and the contacts and soldering had corroded.
This is what happen to mine and mostly everyone else because the rdc is placed at a perfect location that water is kicked up from the wheel.
If everything looks fine you can glue it back together. Don’t worry, any glue will work better than what the manufacturer had used on it. If found bad, Buy new rdc and you “must” code the new rdc to you vehicle(e-sys in my case).

Thanks. I will be checking mine tomorrow.
Do you have instructions or tutorial for coding via Esys or Rheingold.
