how do you compare the 2 vehicles in terms of driving dynamics and speed?
granted weight and power is different between the two 40s but still curious

Are those the original cerium 21" 718M rims, powder coated? They look very cool with the red callipers. Thinking of getting mine done, can't decide on matte or gloss finish. Car is Sophisto Grey metallic (Dark Graphite in the US I think?) |

Correct; and thank you. Mirror (or Wet) Black… matches the trim. But super hard to keep clean (but that’s okay). I absolutely love the way mine has turned out… I’m a sucker for gray and black combos when done tastefully.

I've never driven the X3 M40, but i would assume they are very close. They both have the same HP and from the reviews I've seen, both have same times for 0-60 & 1/4 mile.

The SG has a rainbow metallic fleck which really helps hide the dirt - winters here are grimy wet affairs with lots of salt on the roads that builds up very quickly. I do like the gloss black rims, though I guess to get the best look you need to keep on top of the tyre shine. My M40i is pre-LCI so the only calliper colour available was blue. Looks ok, but the red is so much better against the black/grey combo. Might need to get them painted as well… |

I’ve been pondering what to do tire-wise longer term with my car. It came with the 19” rims and all-season run-flats. I definitely want to buy snow tires next season. Looking at your car’s photos, maybe I’ll put snows on the 19” rims and buy 20” black rims like yours. My car is also black, with black seats.

However when you are close by you can see that it's slightly narrower.
It's hard to capture against black from this angle but I tried different angles. These are before I cut the tabs off.

Those side markers don't look right. See my post #12 for where I got mine. Fit perfect.

Hmmm…. Not sure. I do remember mine not being an exact fit, BUT, I believe I had to actually TRIM a little off mine… not the other way around.
They don’t look bad IMO; but I get where you are coming from. Take good close up pics and send them to the manufacturer/seller (if you are dissatisfied), I bet they make it right. |

I see what you’re saying, mine covered completely. Send pictures to Lamin-x , they may have sent out the wrong ones .

I had the same experience. I also got the rear reflector film too, and the size on those isn't even close. The bad thing is, this is twice now I've had both the side and rear reflectors not covered by exact fitting film from Lamin-x, and it's not an easy return of products since I'm stationed in Germany.

Mine Is a 2018 and they fit perfectly, the only thing I had to do was cut the tabs off. Maybe the newer reflectors are larger. They should make good for them . Lamin X has been around for years.

My markers from Lamin-x fit both cars perfectly. The headlights were a pita to install and not exactly perfect, but part of it was learning curve. I still prefer having the protection vs not.

Headlights use watery solution right? I can't imagine using self adhesive in those. I probably would go with a pro because I know I will mess something up with such a big contours on headlights.
