In my case, the dealer did a trade with another dealer to get my car, and drove it from the one dealer to the other dealer. The saleswoman was up front and clear that there would be extra miles on the car because of this. Her estimate ended up being a bit higher than the eventual actual miles. You can ask where those miles came from.

Absolutely 100 % this. My bill of sale had 25 miles. I noticed only after I got home from my 50 mile trip from the dealer there was 149 miles on the car. Someone put 75 miles on my car after I purchased it (there was a 20 day gap between buying and picking it up).

The way they explained it to me is that they had to bring it few times from their parking lot/tech center to dealership to show it to customers ~ 6 miles round trip
