Called BMW hot line again, and my production finish date as been moved up from 3/21 to 3/18. With the BMW driving experience ($500 giftcard) event on 3/24 I hope the X3 does not get delivered by then so I can qualify for the gift card! (never thought I would want the shipping to be delayed a couple days).

Unless you're doing the PDC pickup, you should be good. You have to pick up your new vehicle after the "Event" date, not when it's delivered to the dealer ... if it shows up that fast after the production date. (And, if you get yours delivered to the dealer within 14 days of production, DON'T let the folks on the other side of the pond find out ... )

I was looking on the certificate threads, and I did not see any update on what happened after the event, was it a success?

I received the email and delayed purchasing the car until right after the event. The $500 gift certificate came via email about a week after the event. After picking up my car on Saturday, I took the certificate to order the sun blinds ($528 plus tax, so I paid $70.77). The rep did not know what to do at first (claimed I was the first one to use it). It must have gone through fine, because she placed my order. Delivery is antcipated for Thursday. Good luck to everyone else.

My dealer said I'd be the first as well. He recommended that I come back when I know exactly what I want because you have to use it all at the same time (small print). I'm going for the mud guards (less installation), rubber mats, roof rack cross rails, and maybe something else small if I still have cash left.

Well I got my free swag from the dealer.
The parts guy was great and he also said that I was the first to use the coupon.
I got the coupon a couple days after the event in my email.
The cargo mat we got was not included in the eligible mechandise, so we paid about $100 including tax for it.
So we got:
The base rails (the big purchase)
wheel locks
tire pressure gauge
ratchet straps
some cleaning supplies (to get us close to $500)
All in all, well worth the 15mins I spent at the event for a car I already bought
